About Twiggy

Hello! I’m Debby — the creator of Twiggy, The Cupcake Florist. I run my small home bakery from Caerleon, Newport, where I handcraft buttercream blooms that are just as delicious as they are beautiful.

Baking has always been a part of my life. I grew up surrounded by talented cooks — my mum and aunts were forever baking for chapels, church halls, and family parties. Inspired by them, I began baking for fun, with a fair share of both flops and triumphs along the way!

I attempted my first cupcake bouquet over twelve years ago — it was a little rough around the edges, but I was thrilled. A busy career in the New Homes industry meant I had little time to pursue baking seriously, but when I retired in 2022, that changed. I immersed myself in online tutorials, honing my skills and learning the art of buttercream florals.

It wasn’t until I gifted a bouquet to our lovely poodle breeder that things really took off. She shared it online — and the enquiries came flooding in! That was the nudge I needed to register with the local council, earn my 5-star hygiene rating, and start trading properly. Naturally, I named the business after our poodle, Twiggy.

Every cupcake I make is baked and piped by hand using the best ingredients I can find. Whether it’s a small thank-you gift or a statement bouquet for a special occasion, each one is made with love and care — and seeing the joy they bring is the best part of all.

From birthdays to baby showers, weddings to wakes — cupcake flowers add a wow factor to every celebration. I’m so proud to create something that looks beautiful and tastes amazing.
